The Patient Care Coordinator and Shift Coordinators also available to assist when needed. We have three physicians and our nurses work great rotations with regular meal breaks and coffee breaks. The Emergency Department consists of 14 beds, including general treatment bays, six monitored beds, two trauma bays, a negative pressure room, and a secure room. The Emergency department receives approximately 26,000 visits per year and offers state-of-the-art equipment including a new Space Labs Cardiac Monitoring System, and a Procedural Cart System. This system was designed to make all treatment area's multi-purpose by bringing the service needed directly to the patient. Shuswap Lake General Hospital (SLGH) is a community hospital providing 24-hour emergency services, laboratory and radiology services, acute care beds for patient admissions, and obstetrical care We provide some core physician specialties such as internal medicine and low complexity general surgery including ambulatory care day surgery.
