Research Funding (Grant) Coordinator

THE BASICS

Humber River Health is launching a research institute dedicated to health services research, with the aim of transforming the delivery of healthcare in both our hospital and community settings, through the application of digital tools and novel innovations.

 

We are looking for an awesome Research Funding (Grant) Coordinator to join the team and help contribute to an incredible research environment. You'll apply your expertise in research funding and grant acquisition to help ensure our success in identifying, applying for, securing, and managing external funding for our research projects. You should be someone who loves learning new skills, teaching and helping others, and be passionate about transforming the healthcare system to improve how care is delivered. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Work with the research team to support our applications for external grant funding.
  • Identify and track both new and existing funding opportunities and their deadlines, with the goal of making our research program financially sustainable.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of applications for grant funding, consistently communicate funding application deadlines to researchers, and track the status of in-progress grant applications.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance on the appropriateness of grant application budgets.
  • Manage and monitor the spending of grant funding and prepare reports for external funders on our grant administration activities.
  • Help build internal capacity in grantsmanship through the creation/delivery of educational materials, seminars, and workshops.

WHO YOU ARE
  • You have graduate-level training in a healthcare or healthcare-adjacent field (e.g., health services research, design for health, data science, psychology, cognitive science, etc.)
  • You're a pro in applying to common healthcare-related funding mechanisms in Canada, such as CIHR Project Grants.
  • You have several years of experience in managing research funding, for both large and small projects.
  • You have strong knowledge of research best practices, the Canadian healthcare system, the Canadian Common CV system, and the healthcare funding landscape.
  • You're able to communicate your ideas to a range of audiences and integrate the feedback you receive to improve your work.
  • You have a desire to positively change the way healthcare is delivered using the newest digital tools.
