Int./Sr. Business Analysts to define current and target state business processes for a Government of Canada application rationalization initiative

S.i. Systems' valued public sector client is seeking two Business Analysts to define current and target state business processes, contribute to business architecture, and condcut business process re-engineering and design for a Government of Canada application rationalization initiative.

The BA's will:
  • Meet with key stakeholders to collect information on current business processes and requirements, and use the collected information to define the complete to-be states of business processes, as required;
  • Provide knowledge transfer, coaching and / or training to DFO employees so that they can perform similar work in the same or other areas of the organization, if required;
  • Develop and provide any material for the purposes of knowledge transfer;
  • Document the current business processes and build a consensus on the proposed business processes;
  • Analyze business processes related to both current state and future state status; providing recommended process and business rules to be applied to the "to-be" state for development efforts;
  • Support content input for draft system screens and web forms developed by EFM SI UX designer;
  • Analyze and evaluate current business processes and functional requirements to define process flows, procedures and decision points, and align with information management and information technology requirements and standards;
  • Work with key stakeholders and document business requirements documentation;
  • Develop presentation material and supporting documentation for senior management, as required;
  • Facilitate continuous or change management workshops to support the Business Transformation Architects (BTA);
  • Conduct requirements gathering workshops or remote conferences with regional subject matter experts (SME), on current business practices and system business rules;
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for improvements and standardization;
  • Support the BTA and Project Authority with related business process workshops, analysis and artifacts production;
  • Develop use cases, user stories and user acceptance testing (UAT) criteria for use in Agile development efforts;
  • Assess completed development against the defined UAT criteria; and,
  • Identify the required modifications to existing processes and develop communications, training and change management plans.
The successful candidate must have:
  • 15 years' experience contributing to an Agile team environment
  • Experience on 3 similar complex Business/IT Transformation projects for the Government of Canada or a Canadian Crown Corporation
  • Experience with Government of Canada IT Service Delivery processes
  • Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as Sparx EA or Qualiware
  • A professional designation from the IIBA or PMI
