Position Summary:
Oversees the operational planning, establishment, execution, management, and evaluation of department administration. Oversees fiscal, operational, administrative, and human resources management of the department and provides day to day professional guidance and leadership has appropriate to the area of expertise.

Major Responsibilities:
• Manages and oversees administrative and daily operations of the administrative services department, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations;
• Oversees the hiring and supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance;
• Executes total responsible fiscal, operational, and administrative management of the department. Manages contract, purchasing; approves and monitors budget expenditures; cash flow management, prepares budget revisions; provides status reports and/or other periodical program documentation on all projects;
• Provides professional coordination, leadership, logistical and administrative oversight in the execution of day to day activities;
• Assists in establishing and implementing short and long range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures;
• Establishes and implements overall operating plans, budgets, policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with business objectives;
• Manages the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of multiple services, programs, and projects in response to business needs and in accordance with the Brother Seafood’s philosophy and values;
• Develops and implements systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating department;
• Performs other assigned job related duties.


Minimum Job Requirements:
• Post-secondary education or bachelor's degree in a related field to this department
• At least 5 years of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the field of administrative management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments
• Knowledge of staff hiring procedures
• Employee development and performance management skills
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
• Demonstrated experience working in a multiple stakeholder environment
• Ability to provide professional coordination and management of development and/or implementation of projects in area of expertise
• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice principles and issues related to the department
• Strong interpersonal, communication skills. Demonstrated good consensus building and negotiation skills
• Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures
• Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
• Program planning and implementation skills

Terms of Employment:
Job Types: Full-time, permanent
Salary: $35-$45/hour
Location:195 Duffield Drive, Markham ON L6G 1C2
Hours of Work: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday
