Popuar Tire is growing quickly by serving 3 locations in GTA and we want you to grow with it. We are looking for an energetic, hardworking, experienced person to fill the Tire Retreading/Finishing Supervisor role at our Hamilton location( 565 Parkdale Ave N, Hamilton, ON L8H 5Y9).

Position:
Tire Retreading/Finishing Supervisor.

Compensation & Benefits:
• $21 per hour based upon experience and skills may offer more.

• 4% vacation subject to increase by 2% after the first year up to a maximum of 6%.
• Milege will be paid for internal supervision of all 3 locations
• Responsibilities:
1. Embrace and nurture the Popular Tire, Vision, Essence and Core Values.
2. Collaborate with plant leadership teams to ensure alignment with strategic intentions in an effort to ensure a safe work environment, environmental conformance/compliance, cost management, while providing superior quality products and services to continually improve customer satisfaction managed through a systematic approach.
3. Lead team performance and provide feedback to hourly teammates in the major areas of accountability, to include safety, quality, environment, people, cost and productivity.
4. Provide a positive teammate relationship environment for plant teammates.
5. Monitor and communicate results of department key performance indicators to ensure plant and organizational long-term success. Provide day-to-day leadership and direction for the hourly teams.
6. Manage continuous retreading and finishing improvement activities utilizing Standards Driven Process and 5S.
7. Develop and launch leaders, utilizing the multi-skilled work force and job certification system to ensure bench strength and growth within the plant.
8. Benchmark, monitor and implement best practices across retreading processes and equipment, both internal and external, for continuous improvement of operational excellence in the department and the plant.
9. Align and inspire teammate participation in all team related activities, to include self-directed work teams, kaizen teams, safety teams, subcore process teams, etc.
10. Promote positive impacts of corporate citizenship and sustain brand image by staying informed of community and governmental activities, to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
11. Support and implement plant strategic intentions that impact the local facility to improve safety, productivity, quality, customer satisfaction and cost reduction.
12. Ensure line driven safety goals and objectives are achieved, as defined by division safety deployment letter, while maintaining alignment with corporate policies and procedures.
13. Manage and utilize allocated resources to ensure the optimization of the department budget.
14. Identify and recommend capital expenditures to sustain manufacturing operations and forecast future capability needs.
15. Responsible for Standard Based Improvement activities and deliverables.
16. Work interdependently with other departments to ensure internal and external customer process deliverables/expectations are met or exceeded.
17. Develop, implement, and maintain process standards and guidelines for plant expectations of key process KPI’s.
18. May need to travel to supervise work for all 3 popular tire locations.

Requirements:

• Requires 2 Years Business Administration diploma, plus a minimum of 1 to 2 years work experience. Ideal candidate must has working knowledge of systematic tools including, but not limited to, Commercial Vehicle Wheel Service Inspection certificate from Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities , as well as manufacturing experience in tire finishing and retreading supervision.
• Must have Commercial Vehicle Wheel Service Inspection certificate from Ontario Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Available to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience with multitasking in a high pressure environment.
• Passionate, committed, energetic with strong work ethics.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Professional attitude and Excellent problem solving skills.
