Detailed description: 
• Responsible for completing pre-qualifying process for all incoming mortgage leads from broker directly and from our in-house lead generation programs, in-house mortgage agents, and outside agents and 3rd party referrals
• Liaison with clients, mortgage agents, lawyers, appraisal companies, creditors, lenders and in-house debt settler to ensure all mortgage files are closed efficiently and within required deadline

• Gather & verify any necessary information required to co-ordinate and analyze credit applications and ensures consistent, objective and sound credit decisions in a high volume environment
• Ability to negotiate with lenders for the best mortgage product and terms on behalf of the client
• Ability to obtain approvals within 24-48 hours
• Must be able to negotiate terms and rates with lender efficiently and in a timely manner
• Must be able to enter all data into expert software quickly and accurately
• Must be able to contact lenders in a timely manner
• Must be able to quickly build relationships and have great negotiation power when asking for mortgage condition exceptions
• Must know all the basic rules of underwriting, but not limited to; credit bureaus, GDS/TDS ratios, amortization, insurance premium, heat and tax calculation, posted rates, etc.
• Must know and understand the most popular high ratio insurance products
• Must be able to complete rental analysis application for investor clients
• Must be very familiar with the following products but not limited to; first time home buyers, business for self, low doc program, new immigrant programs
• Ability to underwrite files with advanced knowledge of all A, B, and Private products available in Ontario
• Expedites approvals for mortgage loans by examining application and supporting documentation; estimating credit-worthiness; calculating repayment risk.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
• Accomplishes company goals by completing related tasks as needed
• Protects company’s image by keeping mortgage loan information confidential.
• Responsible for all fulfillment duties required for pre, interim and post-closing of mortgage files from Mortgage Broker/In-house Agents.
• Responsible for compliance after each deal closing
• Perform administrative duties to support mortgage processing requirements

5 years
Qualifications required: 
• Post-secondary degree in a related field required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Mortgage Broker Industry is mandatory
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Mortgage Brokerage Office is mandatory
• Excellent oral and written communication skills ability to express ideas and procedures clearly and concisely
• Ability to work with highly sensitive information.
• Must have excellent auditing, financials and decision makings skills,
• Must be highly professional and quality focussed
• Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature are a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
• Ability to close mortgage sales in a timely manner and ensure client is confident and comfortable in the mortgage options presented to them
• Advanced in Filogix Expert and MS Office Software & ability to type >55 WPM
• Solution-focused, takes initiative to work effectively within established guidelines
• Must have excellent sales skills over the phone, in person and in email writing
• Must be able to reach all deadlines in an environment that does not provide frequent extensions
• Excellent Customer Service skills with a focus on sales
• In depth knowledge of credit and mortgage loan underwriting practices for A, B, and Private products
• Organized, work well under pressure, multi task and prioritize tasks in terms of urgency
• Able to learn and follow current processes and system that are in place
• Ability to work independently with little or no guidance
• Must have own vehicle
• Willing to work alternate shifts (evening/weekends)
• Reside in close proximity to office in Vaughan
• Able to attend Mortgage Division Networking Events and Seminars as well as all corporate events to promote mortgage division when needed
• Having a mortgage agent license will be considered an asset
• Mortgage Agent License will be required after probation is completed
