For more than 50 years, our client has provided clients and customers in the lower mainland with the highest level of customer service. They are focused mainly in the residential and commercial sectors but manage a wide variety of small to large complex and highly reputable projects.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Their business has experienced year over year growth and are in need of passionate and hard-working Estimator to manage the constant flow of projects coming in.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As an estimator you will be assisting with accurate and timely estimates for projects, including materials and labour. The Estimator will be tasked with preparing and maintaining a list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors. As an estimator it will be crucial for you to be able to analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentations in preparation of accurate and profitable electrical estimating, budgeting time, cost, and labor estimates.

Your essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparing and coordinating full cost estimates, design- builds or general tender work, up to any size and complexity
  • Perform high volume of price change notices.
  • Create itemized list for material and labour requirements.
  • Be involved in learning how to compute factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness.
  • Learn to conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
  • Provide recommendations to cost estimating procedures to reduce future discrepancies.
  • Help with preparing materials, labour and other equipment coast estimations according to proposals, plans, estimates and specifications, without supervision
  • Other duties assigned to meet Company objectives

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-4 years of experience estimating on high-rise residential and commercial towers
  • Bachelor's Degree, with a practical knowledge of the Electrical Contracting industry, and of field requirements; OR
  • Electrician's License with minimum of three years field experience and/or training; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience; successful completion of estimating program in post-secondary environment would be an asset
  • Accubid experience is an asset

COMPENSATION

  • $60,000 to $80,000 depending on experience
  • 3 weeks paid vacation
  • Phone and Laptop
  • Extended Health- 100% premiums paid for
  • RRSP Matching after 1 Year
