KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

PROGRAMMING
1. Ensuring the development and approval of Residential program schedules for all activities and transportation
2. Ensuring all programming meets Ministry of Community and Social Services requirements in respect to Quality Assurance Measures and The Salvation Army Lawson Ministries policies and procedures.
3. Ensuring that goals are developed for participants that are tailored to their needs and assessed on an ongoing basis.
4. Ensuring the timely follow-up on participant concerns and issues,
5. Scheduling and attending regular team meetings with program frontline staff and record outcomes,
7. Ensuring Crisis Protocols are updated regularly and all emergency protocols are followed and reported.

CASE MANAGEMENT
1. Ensuring the completion of Individualized Service Plans for each Residential Participant,
2. Representing The Salvation Army Lawson Ministries at the community table for DSO/Contact Hamilton and other committees as required, in a professional manner,
3. Ensuring that all reporting is accurate and completed in a timely manner (i.e. daily and monthly statistics and tracking staff hours and scheduling),
4. Ensuring the needs of each participant are met including: adequate food, clothing, shelter, cleaning of the home, participation in and coordination of meal preparations as well provision of Personal Needs Care.
5. Completing intake for new program participants to ensure smooth transition to the program is completed appropriately and in a timely manner.

SUPERVISION
1. Completing annualized performance appraisals for Residential team leaders and other team members, focused on goals for the coming year.
2. Regular supervision meetings and file updates as needed.
3. Conducting interviews as needed and following all aspects of the hiring process.
4. Provide resources, supports and co-ordinate training for Residential team members as required.
5. Ensure bi-weekly payroll including tracking vacation, sick time, stat and lieu balance is submitted on behalf of Residential team and ensure schedules are updated for SIL program on a regular basis.
6. Ensuring all shift descriptions are updated and participant information shared with team.
8. Other duties as outlined in Program Coordinator – Residential Job Description and as assigned by the Program Manager or Executive Director.

Detailed description: 
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should possess:
1. Undergraduate University Degree in Human Services field or in Social Work, or equivalent in education and work experience,
2. Program co-ordination experience within the Developmental Disability sector and experience in supervisory role of employees, students and volunteers an asset.
3. Managerial experience,
4. Volunteer Coordination experience an asset,
5. First Aid & Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification Current,
6. Must have valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s license and a current original copy of Driver’s Abstract,
7. Pharmacology training and experience in medication administration necessary,
8. Experience developing, implementing and evaluating individualized program plans,
9. Experience in assessing and networking with community agencies and accessing necessary resources.
10. Strong oral and written communication skills,
11. Possess leadership traits and ability to build and motivate team,
12. Experience/working knowledge in scheduling using word processing and spreadsheet,
13. Provide an original copy of a Criminal Records Check (CRC) with vulnerable sector screening secured through either the National Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment. NOTE: A satisfactory Criminal Background Check is required and must be less than 3 months old.
