Under general supervision, the Mechanic will be responsible for carrying out skilled journeyman level work. Work involves preventative and corrective maintenance, inspections, modifications, installation/dismantling of systems and projects within the trade, and troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairs of construction equipment. Location: Milton, Ontario Key Responsibilities Ensure all Workplace Safety, Environmental Policies and Regulations are being adhered to. Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures. Maintain and service a fleet of trucks and trailers. Maintain and service a fleet of construction equipment. Able to perform services on electrical, hydraulic, power train, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Operate a hoist and lift device to position machinery parts in a safe manner. Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment. Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment. Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with machine to identify fault codes. Provides guidance and instruction to less experienced, or apprentice maintenance personnel. Performing hands on maintenance and repairs of all equipment. Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles. Making repairs per the manufacturers specifications. Utilize computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes. Suggest positive changes to policy and procedures as required. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Maintain excellent customer relations. Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns. Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Knowledge and Experience Valid G license required; a valid DZ license is considered an asset. Truck and Coach Service License (310T) required. Minimum of 5 years experience in equipment and vehicle maintenance and repairs Excellent mechanical knowledge High school graduate asset What You Bring to the Team: Collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills A good attitude and understand that safety always comes first.
