Operations Innovation is the team in the Innovation Gateway that works to support innovation initiatives in our existing assets. This role will be working on the Cenovus Upstream Thermal assets (FCCL, SR, Lloydminster) and our Well Delivery Teams (Completions, Drilling, ARO). This is an incredible opportunity to learn about innovation within Cenovus and the energy sector!

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and execution on various projects to support the work of Operations Innovation

• Apply troubleshooting knowledge to various operational processes

• Collaborate with various partners including Major Projects and external vendors

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines

• Apply process knowledge and engineering principles in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer

Qualifications

• Legally entitled to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

• Available to begin work in June 2024

• Experience with ParcView, Microsoft Office Suite, Aspen Hysys, Unisim or SAP would be considered an asset

• Comfortable with Microsoft Excel

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Chemical/Process or Petroleum Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

• Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

Working Conditions

• May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.

Safety Sensitive

• This may be a safety-sensitive role, and you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.

• Safety sensitive positions require the operation of a motor vehicle, applicants are asked to provide a recent (i.e., issued within the previous 4 weeks) original driver is abstract, for the preceding 5-year period, if offered the position. A valid Canadian class 5 Driver's License with no restrictions (i.e., non GDL) is a requirement for this role
