Main functions: 
The students will work with other summer support staff and existing agency staff to coordinate, plan, organize and supervise various group mentoring programs in accordance with the National Standards set out by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. The students will be responsible to oversee a set schedule of day-camps throughout the summer months in consultation with agency staff. The students will work with agency staff to organize and prepare for the annual book sale, the summer BBQ and other areas of need as identified by the Executive Director.

Detailed description: 
-attend training and orientation sessions as provided by the Executive Director or other agency staff
-research existing community resources for ideas for camp activities
-provide information to potential volunteers, clients and families
-plan, organize and supervise activities for the summer camps including Kids ‘N’ Kops, Fun While You Wait and other camps as scheduled.
-manage intake of children for each of the summer camps and keep daily attendance records and case notes for each participant
-provide regular reports to Executive Director, or special reports as requested
-maintain strict confidentiality as outlined in agency Privacy and Confidentiality Policy
-ensure all clients and volunteers are informed of any pertinent agency information with regards to group programs and/or special events
-perform administrative functions as required
-liaise with other youth service agencies, community groups, clubs or the general public as required
-assist with agency special events and fundraisers as required
-to follow all agency child safety policies and practices
-to perform all related job duties as requested by the Executive Director or designate
