Reporting to the Director of Sales and Purchasing, you will be expected to receive, analyse and question requests from project managers and the estimation department. As a buyer, you will have to make sure you understand the specific needs, do the necessary researches and contacts, analyze the options and make your recommendations. You will need to be rigorous and organised as we will be counting on you to purchase products from suppliers and subcontractors, all the way through the reception of the merchandise.

Employment context
• Custom manufacturing projects
• Wide range of products and services (wood, acrylic, glass, lighting, architectural hardware, metal, etc.)
• Short deadlines for research and manufacturing
• Sourcing out of Canada, the US and Asia
• Predominantly francophone team

Responsibilities
• Understand the needs of the requester and ensure appropriate follow-up
• Research new products, suppliers and subcontractors
• Negotiate prices and payment agreements
• Make purchases and track delivery of products
• Maintain an appropriate inventory level for the standard materials
