Adecco Saskatoon is currently recruiting for a full time permanent Welding Shop Lead Hand to join out client’s team based in Biggar, Saskatchewan. Our client are leaders in their industry with a twenty-five year history in the manufacturing of steel storage tanks to major industries such as oil and gas, transportation, construction and waste management,

The successful candidate must be able to effectively manage welding operations and daily flow of production and shop employees.

Detailed description: 
In this role, the Welding Shop Lead Hand will be responsible for:

- Day to day operation of the shop floor with focus on health and safety, quality, and production
- Train new employees (when needed) and inspect daily work
- Ensure that the products leaving the shop meet quality and industry standards
- Sign off on incoming and outgoing parts and equipment
- Ensure welding and build procedures are being followed
- Manpower planning to ensure job priorities are managed
- Help to find new ways or process to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner
- Oversee overhead lifts

Welding Lead Hand Qualifications include:
- CWB Ticket and/or journeyman welder with proven mechanical experience
- The ideal candidate will have shop lead hand experience with at least 1 year’s experience leading a team
- Prior experience in a shop environment with an understanding of operations
- Commitment to safety with a working knowledge on the OH&S hazards applicable to the industry
- Experience in manufacturing and/or working with stainless steel, iron, heavy metal and/or storage tanks is a definite asset.

This position is located in the company’s head office in Biggar, Saskatchewan, where all engineering, manufacturing, project management, production, technical support and contact administration are completed. It is important that candidates be willing to relocate to Biggar for this position.

The role will suit a candidate with a strong work ethic who is driven to succeed in the industry. The career development plan with this role is to move into a Welding Supervisor / Foreman position over a 3 years period and this role work directly with the General Manager.
