Eden Care Centre (ECC) is an 89 residential bed, privately owned, publicly funded complex care home. ECC is dedicated to ensuring and maintaining a resident-centered home respecting the dignity and worth of all residents, their family and friends. ECC recognizes the uniqueness of each resident and supports their independence and individuality. ECC enables and optimizes the residents’ abilities by responding to the physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual and cultural needs.

With the operational guidance of CareCorp Director of Operations, and clinical direction from the CareCorp Director of Clinical Services, the Care Leader is responsible for providing guidance, supervision, clinical leadership and progressive coaching to all care team members including Registered Nurses (RN’s), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s), Residential Care Aides (RCA’s), and the Recreation Manager at Eden Care Centre. The Care Leader partners with the Eden Care Centre management team to ensure that health codes, safety measures, accreditation, and legal mandates are met as well as collaborating with the management team to ensure that residential care and safety are a priority and aligned with staffing practices.

Detailed description: 
• Accountable for effective communication with client site representatives and management for the performance, conduct, and educational progression of all care staff.
• Investigates injury reports and ensures that there is adherence to WorkSafe BC and all health and safety codes. Assists other site managers and the CareCorp Director of Clinical Services in developing and implementing corrective action.
• Oversees resident centre care by CareCorp staff and supports all residents at the care site.
• Meets with residents’ families as needed to address concerns and complaints.
• Participates with CareCorp operations in the recruitment, selection, and retention of top performing care team members.
• Monitors, assesses, and modifies the workload of care staff as needed.
• Conducts performance appraisals and evaluations.
• Works in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the site.
• Assists in forecasting staffing levels for upcoming fiscal years.
• Supports the CareCorp Model of Service, Mission, Vision, Values and interprets contracted sites policies and procedures to share and lead with assigned staff.
• Acts as a liaison between CareCorp and the care site management team.
• Provides input to and supports the Licensing requirements of the care site.
• Develops a Performance Plan [action plans and strategies], in conjunction with the care site representatives, the CareCorp Director of Operations, other CareCorp Management, to focus performance towards the goals of the requirements of Licensing.
• Monitors performance, conducts Performance Evaluations as assigned and provides support to staff in the attainment of their performance goals, through mentoring, coaching and discipline.

Minimum experience required: 
5 years
Qualifications required: 
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of BC (CLPNBC) with 4 - 5 years nursing experience, of which a minimum of 2 years in a leadership/management role, such as a Clinical Lead or Assisted Living Manager.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with physicians, management, other care professionals, and management team members.
• Ability to effectively lead and support a multi-disciplinary team.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
