Our client, a leader in heavy manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Technical Illustrator to join their team at their head office in Winnipeg. The successful candidates will have demonstrated experience with a wide range of both 2D and 3D computer-generated illustrations with the ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced environment. This detail-oriented individual will take initiative and be able to prioritize multiple projects and tasks as set by the Project Coordinator.

The Role
•Produces layouts and draws schematic, perspective, orthographic, or isometric illustrations.
•Experience depicting function, relationship, and assembly-sequence of parts using specialized software to meet established illustrating standards.
•Correctly interpret source data; specifications, vendor technical documents, engineering models or 2D mechanical/electrical drawings and sketches.
•Create 2D vector or raster illustrations or 3D model assembly illustrations as required for technical manuals.

Qualifications
• A minimum 3-5 years’ work experience as a technical illustrator.
•Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is required with a focus such as Technical Communication, Graphic Design or Design Drafting, Technical Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology and Mechanical Technology are considered strong assets.
•Excellent working knowledge of Corel Designer, Corel Draw or similar vector based software is a strong asset.
•Experience with 3D modeling with Siemens NX or SolidWorks.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
•Possess a strong mechanical aptitude and have a good understanding of engineering drawings and standard practices.
