Our client, located downtown, has been in business for over 60 years. Our client is an accounting firm offering a multitude of disciplines in audit, tax and advisory services. They have created an environment that engages their team and stimulates their development and growth.

They are currently looking for an experienced Audit Manager to manage the preparation review of accounting engagement and audit files.



RESPONSIBILITIES :


• Preparation of financial statements and tax returns in accordance with Firm standards for clients in a variety of businesses and non-profit enterprises
• Coordinating and supervising audits of small to medium sized organizations in a variety of industries
• Provide accounting and tax compliance services to private clients for compilation and review engagements
• Deliver industry and technical expertise in audit and assurance through client interactions, written reports, technical work, management presentations and the production of high quality deliverables

• Advise clients on planning opportunities, tax strategies, reporting and compliance issues.
• Lead client engagements, identify and analyze client needs
• Provide clients with comprehensive business plans, financial solutions, and practical business advice
• Design, develop and deliver final report and/or presentation to client
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients
• Responsible for managing the overall planning and work volume for assurance work, audits, compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls, financial and accounting transactions
• Execute transactions through the provision of client services including planning, scheduling and coordinating engagements
• Prepare and deliver proposals to clients for services offered by the firm
• Effective communication with our clients, government agencies and with our partners and staff
• Keeping partners and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues

• Responsible for managing a team of professionals
• Ensure staff are meeting client deadlines and review their work for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide meaningful coaching and training to staff members
• Prepare and add input towards performance evaluations for professional staff
• Act as a mentor to professionals to ensure their growth as future leaders; allowing for effective career planning
• Participate in the recruitment process for key team members




EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS :

• CPA designation is required
• A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of public accounting experience is preferred, including audit experience
• Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills
• Solid verbal and written communication skills (French and English)
• Strong commitment to professional client service excellence
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in a team.
• Strong leadership abilities; experience leading a team is an asset
• Working knowledge of multiple industries is an asset
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Assurance Standard and Canadian review engagement standards.
• Proficient in Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises and accounting standards for not-for profit entities
• Proficient in MS Office applications, Adobe, Caseware, Caseview and Taxprep
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to lead client engagements and interact efficiently with clients
• Remain current and knowledgeable on trending topics in accounting and assurance
• Highly motivated individual with a desire for growth
