Manager or Senior Manager, Private Equity Tax

Your Opportunity We are currently looking to hire a Manager or Senior Manager to be part of our growing Tax team which can be based out of any of our locations across Canada. You will be involved in assisting clients with transaction tax issues including completing tax due diligence (both buy-side and sell-side), tax structuring, tax modelling, pre-sale planning, assisting with the tax aspect of sale purchase agreements, post-closing items and other transaction tax matters. Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Lead sell-side and buy-side tax due diligence engagements to identify, evaluate and quantify potential tax liabilities and exposures and work with vendors to mitigate these exposures prior to commencing a sale process and/or with legal counsel in reviewing purchase and sale and ancillary agreements Work with Partners & clients to mitigate tax exposures prior to commencing a sale process Analyze complex tax issues to help design tax-efficient structures for strategic and private equity acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations Collaborate with team members on the design of Canadian and international private equity funds and related management structures Analyze complex tax issues and prepare technical deliverables to outline the tax analysis and implications to clients Manage and mentor engagement team members and work closely with team members located across the country Maintain relationships with clients at the highest level, build positive working relationships and provide effective support for engagements Contribute to the successful recruitment of new talent Develop the capabilities of less experienced staff through coaching, knowledge transfer, internal training delivery, assignment of challenging work opportunities Support business development initiatives, primarily in the private equity space and identify new opportunities with existing clients How do we define success for your role? The effective date of this appointment is flexible, tentatively aiming for July 1, 2024. Applicant in training who have plans for completion of the aforementioned fellowships will be considered. The successful candidate should have a strong track-record of research productivity and clinical training with a focus on orthopaedic trauma including pelvis/acetabular surgery, and lower extremity (hip/knee) joint reconstruction. It is expected that the candidate will establish an academic surgical practice and focus most of their clinical activity on orthopaedic trauma and urgent surgery, with the remaining focused on scheduled lower extremity reconstruction (eg. post-traumatic, hip/knee arthroplasty, hip joint preservation) surgery. In keeping with the academic focus of the Division and the Department of Surgery, the recruit will commit at least 50% of their time to formal academic activities. Bureau neuf et lumineux Possibilité de télétravail RAISON D'ÊTRE Relevant du directeur principal, certification et comptabilité, le candidat à la profession est responsable de la préparation des états financiers, des déclarations d'impôts corporatives et/ou personnelles et des déclarations des taxes. PRINCIPALES ACTIVITÉS Être responsable des mandats clients qui lui sont attribués au cours de l'année et s'assurer du respect des échéanciers auxquels les clients sont soumis; Participer à la planification et à l'exécution des mandats de fin d'année de ses clients incluant les états financiers (mission de compilation et d'examen); Analyser les variations aux états financiers et justifier dans le dossier de fin d'année, le cas échéant; Produire les déclarations de revenus des particuliers et des sociétés; Préparer les rapports des taxes de vente pour le client; Préparer les feuilles de suivis des dividendes; Recommander les aspects à être améliorés afin d'augmenter l'efficacité organisationnelle du département et de l'équipe; Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe et nécessaire dans le cadre de ses fonctions. PROFIL D'EXIGENCES COMPÉTENCES ET HABILETÉS Être orienté client et avoir une facilité à communiquer avec les gens; Capacité à gérer plusieurs dossiers à la fois et à établir des priorités; Avoir une bonne capacité d'adaptation et de gestion du stress; Avoir un bon esprit d'analyse et d'auto-vérification; Bien travailler en équipe; Avoir un sens marqué de l'organisation et le souci du détail; Être autonome dans son travail. CONNAISSANCES TECHNIQUES Maîtriser la Suite Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook et Word); Connaître les logiciels comptables tels que Sage 50, Acomba, Quickbook en ligne (un atout); Maîtriser parfaitement la langue française tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit; Maîtriser la langue anglaise tant à l'oral qu'à l'écrit (un atout). SCOLARITÉ Posséder un baccalauréat en comptabilité; Posséder un DESS en comptabilité professionnelle ou en cours; Être en voie de détenir le titre professionnel de CPA. Le chargé de projets de notre division Ponts & Ouvrages d'Art assure la bonne coordination de l'équipe en place pour créer un environnement de travail dynamique et efficace. Il prend part à chacune des étapes des travaux, s'assure du respect des échéanciers et agit à titre de personne de référence auprès des différents intervenants. RÃ"LES ET RESPONSABILITÉS Déterminer les rôles et responsabilités de projet conjointement avec le directeur; Réaliser les mandats confiés par le directeur de projet et faire preuve d'autonomie et d'initiative pour le bon déroulement du projet; Prendre la responsabilité des mandats assignés; Faire les instructions et procéder aux dessins d'atelier dans le logiciel PROCORE en collaboration avec le coordonnateur de projets; Rédaction et transmission de documents techniques; Demander les permis; Assurer la mise à jour et le suivi de l'échéancier avec le directeur de projet; Assurer une présence en chantier et la surveillance des travaux et challenger; Gérer la liste des déficiences; Gérer les quittances et les factures en collaboration avec le directeur de projet; Informer les clients des extras et en faire le suivi pendant les travaux; Faire des demandes de prix pour respecter les budgets; Préparer et envoyer les bons de commande; Collaborer avec le directeur de projet pour les demandes de paiements mensuels; Toutes autres tâches connexes EXIGENCES ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES Diplôme d'études universitaires ou diplôme d'études collégiales en génie civil ou génie de la construction; Expérience requise de 3 ans minimum en tant que chargé de projets; Expérience dans le domaine de la construction génie civil, un atout; Capacité à lire des plans et devis; Connaissance du système informatique PROCORE; Être autonome; Habiletés à travailler en équipe; Être organisé; Être polyvalent; Être proactif.
