Automation Programmer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Programmer in automation participates in all steps leading to the completion of a project from the concept, the programming, the installation and the troubleshooting of the automated systems.
• Participates in defining projects
• Analyze, develop, program and test process control systems at the office.
• Prepare the start-ups of systems at the clients’ mills.
• Generate a progress report on projects, installations under way and service.
• Create and update documentation of existing systems.
• Provide level 3 technical support.
• Carry out all other related duties.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
• Bachelor or collegial diploma in electrical engineering or management of automated production or industrial automation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in automation.
• Experience in PLC Ladder, Structured Text and Grafcet programming.
• Experience in Control Motion, servodrive and servovalve hydraulics.
• Good knowledge of Allen Bradley RSLogix 5, 500, 5000 and FactoryTalk softwares.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley equipments: PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, VFD PowerFlex and Servo Drive Kinetix.
• Knowledge of PLC networks: RIO, Control Net, Device Net, Ethernet IP.
• Knowledge of Delta motion.
• Working knowledge of French and English.
